Titanic was launched at 12:15 p.m. on May 31, 1911 in Lord Pirrie, J. Pierpont Morgan, J. Bruce Ismay and 100,000 spectators.

PROTOTYPE HISTORY

On a calm, moonless night on April 15, 1912, 600 kilometers from Newfoundland, the most famous maritime disaster in history occurred. The most innovative ship ever built by an engineering genius collided with an iceberg and sank, killing 1,517 passengers and crew. The “Olympic” class ship was named “Titanic” and turned out to be a symbol of the superiority of the forces of nature over human reason. Regardless of the terrible accident that caused the disaster, the Titanic deserves admiration as the most perfect creation of the shipbuilders of the early 20th century.

At the time of its launch it was the huge passenger steamer. Its length was 269 meters, which is approximately equivalent to three football fields, while its width was 28 meters. The height from keel to mast top is 56 meters, about the size of a modern 20-story building. The mass of the steamer was 52,310 tons. These are almost 300 Boeing 747 aircraft.

The Titanic contained the most advanced technology. Two steam engines and a turbine provided an output of 55,000 l/s. A pair of three-blade side and four-blade center propellers gave the ship an acceleration of 26 mph (42 km/h). The entire ship was electrified. Electric bulkheads were installed between the compartments of the hold and closed when water was detected. Advanced communications systems allowed the captain and a duty officer to monitor all of the ship's systems.

HISTORY OF MODELING

When choosing ship models to create a designer, the engineers of "Metal Time" first turned to the history of the most impeccable of the early 20th century and called the model "Lost at Sea". In this model you will find the features, splendor, power and grace of the super steamers of the era. This ship will delight anyone interested with technical masterpieces, two propellers, four pipes, four decks, anchors with chains and holds with gears and electric motor.

The numerous components and parts of the models will give you many priceless hours of technical creativity. The taming of metal and the fulfillment of the result achieved leaves a remarkable impression and a feeling of belonging to the significant creations of the past. The Lost at Sea is a tribute to the boldness of the inventor and the courage of the crews of the great steamers of the 20th century.

Therefore, the Lost at Sea model should definitely become a part of your collection.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

The Lost at Sea model is one of the largest Metal Time models. This is indicated by the super size of the super steamer, which turned out to be a prototype. Therefore, the number of parts and elements in this model is several times higher than in the simpler prefabricated models. This guarantees an exciting introduction to the theory and practice of shipbuilding at the time of the steam engine.

Instead of a steam engine, the model is equipped with an electric motor with a gearbox that drives the ship's propellers.

The hull supports the demonstration platform. Curly cuts are made on the sides, imitating waves. Overview cutouts on the sides allow you to observe how the mechanisms work.

The ready-made Lost at Sea model will decorate the interior of the house of the lover of adventure novels and the wind-salted “sea wolf”. The legendary super steamer will recapitulate the remarkable love story of a romantic schoolgirl and symbolize luxury and innovation on a businessman's desk.

The precise cutting of the set saves cuts during assembly. The parts fit tightly together and do not cause joint problems. The pleasant feel, durability and aesthetics of brushed metal distinguish steel parts from the plastic or wooden parts used by other designers.

Appropriate flat packaging made of easy-care, environmentally friendly cardboard integrates the solidity and aesthetics of a status gift. Each purchaser of a Metal Time model receives a club badge, a thank you card and a unique number assigned to each model. Joining the Metal Time Club creates more opportunities for every customer.

Two masts, four volume pipes, four decks, anchor chains, ladders and railings - all these details will catch the eye of ship model fans.
