The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit.

The station serves as a microgravity and space research laboratory, conducting scientific research in astrobiology, astronomy, meteorology, physics and other fields.

Russian modules launched and docked robotically, with the exception of Rassvet.
